بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
96:1
ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ
96:1
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:2
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
96:2
He created man from a clot of blood. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:3
ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ
96:3
Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:4
ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ
96:4
who, by the pen, taught the human being: - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:5
عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ
96:5
He taught the human being what he did not know. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:6
كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ
96:6
Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:7
أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ
96:7
because he thinks that he is independent. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:8
إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ
96:8
However, (all things) will return to your Lord. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:9
أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ
96:9
Have you seen the one who prohibits - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:10
عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ
96:10
a servant of Ours from prayer? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:11
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ
96:11
What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:12
أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ
96:12
or if he commands others to maintain piety!? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:13
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ
96:13
What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:14
أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ
96:14
Does he not realize that God sees him? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:15
كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ
96:15
Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:16
نَاصِيَةٍ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ
96:16
his lying sinful forelock. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:17
فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ
96:17
Let him call on his associates for help - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:18
سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ
96:18
and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
96:19
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩
96:19
(Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
